The 99 was designed by Sixten Sason and manufactured both in Sweden and Finland by Saab between 1968 and 1984. Funny fact, the 99 was marketed as a large family car in Scandinavia, but Saab decided to position this car as a compact executive car in the rest of the world.

The Saab 99 Turbo was one of the first 'family cars' to be fitted with a turbo.
The performance were:
* 2 liter turbo engine
* 145 hp
* Acceleration 0–100 km/h 9.2 sec
* Top speed 196.7 km/h

Of course, if we talk about the Saab 99, we definitely have to talk about Stig Blomqvist and its two WRC victories at the Swedish Rally in 1977 (with the Saab 99 EMS) and in 1979 (with the Saab 99 Turbo). Stig Blomqvist was one of the most famous and talented Rally drivers of the 70s and the 80s. Overall, he won no less than 11 Rallies and won the 1984 WRC title! We found this video on youtube published by Farbror Ludvig in July 13th 2019 just to enjoy Mr Blomqvist handling the Saab 99 Turbo:

DNA Collectibles decided to replicate the "public" 99 Turbo version, you can buy the 1/18 scale replica right here.

The Saab 99 Turbo was introduced in 1978 and was fitted with a turbocharged version of the two litre engine. This car was available in black, Sterling Silver, Anthracite Grey and Cardinal Red. Let's talk about some performance characteristics now:

* Horsepower 145 @ 5,000 RPM
* Torque 174-lbs.ft. @ 3,500 RPM
* Acceleration 0–100 km/h (62 mph) in 9.2 sec
* 0–160 km/h (99 mph) in 26.2 sec
* Top speed 196.7 km/h (122 mph)

We are very conscientious when we decide to reproduce a scale model car because we do respect the history and the emotions that are coming along with the models... We don't just reproduce scale model cars, we are sharing passion!
